Kim invited Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the North Korean leader for a summit on Wednesday. In this they discussed military affairs and deepening cooperation and for this Kim has invited Putin to visit North Korea.

Kim visited two aviation facilities, the Yuri Gagarin Aviation Plant and the Yakovlev Plant in the Far Eastern city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur. It is noteworthy that both are units of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), which has been sanctioned by the West due to the war in Ukraine.

Kim inspected assembly workshops

The Gagarin plant is also specifically sanctioned by the United States. According to news agency Reuters, the Russian government said Kim, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, inspected assembly workshops at the Gagarin plant, where Sukhoi Su-35 multirole combat aircraft and Su-57 fighter planes are made.

The government said- "Kim Jong Un and Denis Manturov inspected the combat aircraft assembly plant and the final assembly shop of the Su-35 aircraft and the fifth-generation Su-57 aviation complex."

Inspected technical capabilities

"The delegation also inspected the technical capabilities of the plant, which has been modernized and retrofitted," the Russian government said. It is noteworthy that before watching the flight demonstration of the Su-35, Kim inspected the workshops where the fuselage and wings of Russia's Sukhoi Superjet 100 are made.

Manturov said - "We have demonstrated one of our leading aircraft production facilities to the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. We are eyeing the possibility of cooperation in both aircraft manufacturing and other industries."

Concern is increasing due to the friendship between Putin and Kim

However, the growing friendship between Kim and Putin is a matter of concern for the United States and its allies. Washington has alleged that North Korea has provided weapons to Russia. However, it is not clear whether any deliveries of weapons have been made. Both Russia and North Korea have denied those claims, but have promised to deepen defense cooperation.

Biden administration warned Russia

During a visit to North Korea in July, Kim showed banned ballistic missiles to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. The US State Department said on Wednesday that if new arms deals between Russia and North Korea are concluded, the Biden administration will not hesitate to impose additional sanctions on them.

Urge Moscow to fulfill the responsibility of a permanent member of the Security Council

Senior diplomats and defense officials from South Korea and the United States agreed on Friday that military cooperation between North Korea and Russia is a serious violation of UN sanctions. At the same time, he urged Moscow to show responsibility as a permanent member of the Security Council.

South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin told media on Friday that the government is considering options for imposing independent sanctions on North Korea and Russia over arms trade concerns.
