Pervez Musharraf's body will be brought to Pakistan, will be handed over to Karachi

Sonwara, the mortal remains of former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf will be brought to the country by a special aircraft from Dubai. He will be cremated in Karachi, Pakistan. Musharraf, who designed the Kargil operation in 1999, died in Dubai on Sunday after a prolonged illness.

Suffered from Amyloidosis

Pervez Musharraf, 79, had been living in the UAE since 2016. He was undergoing treatment for amyloidosis at the American Hospital in Dubai for a long time. According to the information, Musharraf's body will be taken to Pakistan by a special plane at 11.30 am local time. Pakistan's special military aircraft will fly from Noor Khan Airbase to Dubai to bring the mortal remains of the former President from Dubai. However, this has not been confirmed yet. 

NOC issued to bring the dead body

Pervez Musharraf's family has confirmed that the Pakistan Embassy in the UAE has issued an NOC to bring Musharraf's mortal remains to Pakistan upon request. It is written in this NOC that the former President's wife Sahba Musharraf, son Bilal and daughter Ayla will bring Musharraf's mortal remains to Pakistan and they will be buried in the cemetery of Karachi. Pervez Musharraf's mother was buried in Dubai while his father was cremated in Karachi. 

Did a coup in 1999

Musharraf seized power in 1999 by ousting Nawaz Sharif. He served as the President of Pakistan from 2001 to 2008. After that he went to Dubai and settled there. Musharraf was the last military dictator to rule Pakistan.
