Russia-Ukraine War: First talks with America on Ukraine war, Russia made many demands

An important step has been taken in the effort to end the Ukraine war in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Top diplomats of the US and Russia met on Tuesday and discussed issues of improving relations between the two countries besides ending the war.

They have agreed to form high-level teams to take forward the peace talks. They will consider finding a way to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible, which will be permanent, sustainable and acceptable to all parties. However, this process is being carried forward without Ukraine. This has caused concern in Kiev and its allied European countries.

Trump took steps towards ending the war in Ukraine

Let us tell you that three years ago in February 2022, Russia started a military operation in Ukraine, since then it has been going on. Regarding this, the US had imposed many sanctions on Russia, due to which the relations between the two deteriorated. But after taking office, US President Donald Trump took steps towards ending the war in Ukraine.

He spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the phone on February 12 and started the process of normalizing relations. US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said that both sides have agreed to form high-level teams to start working on ending the Ukraine war.

President Trump wants to stop the killings

She said, 'President Trump wants to stop the killings. America wants peace. Trump is the only leader in the world who can make Ukraine and Russia agree on this.' US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and other senior officials attended the meeting.

Talks lasted for more than four hours

US Secretary of State Rubio said, 'Today is the first but important step of a long and difficult journey.' White House National Security Advisor Mike Walts was also part of the US delegation. While after talks that lasted for more than four hours, Russian negotiator Yuri Ushakov told reporters, 'Serious talks were held on all the questions that we wanted to talk about.'

He said that no date has been fixed yet for the meeting between Putin and Trump. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei said, 'NATO membership is unacceptable for Ukraine. We told our allies today about what President Putin has been repeatedly emphasizing. The expansion of NATO by including Ukraine is a direct threat to Russia.'

Ukraine said this

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has already said that if Kiev does not participate in this dialogue, then his country will not accept any decision taken in the talks. While Ukraine's allies European countries have also expressed concern that they are being sidelined.

Russian attack continues amid talks

Russia has continued attacks in Ukraine amid peace talks in Riyadh. According to the Ukrainian army, Russian forces attacked with 176 drones during the night. Most of these were shot down. A woman and her two children were injured in a drone attack on a building in Dolynska in the Kirovohrad region. 38 people were evacuated from the building. Four buildings are also reported to be damaged in the Cherkasy region.
