They want that the border between the two countries should remain as per the existing rules. That means, the part of Ukraine which Russia has captured should now remain with it. According to Reuters sources, if Ukraine and the West do not respond, they can stop the war.

Western country had banned from talking to Zelensky

According to these sources, Putin has expressed disappointment that Western countries were behind the ban on talks with Volodymyr Zelensky. Responding to the claims of Reuters sources, Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the president has repeatedly made clear that Russia is ready for negotiations to achieve its goals and does not want any further war.

On the other hand, Russia is still not ready for this ceasefire, they want to snatch back the Ukrainian areas acquired by the Russian army.
