If the biggest achievement of the Asia Cup 2022 was anything for Team India, then it was the coming of form of Virat Kohli. Kohli's coming into form has been excellent from India's point of view and Team India will definitely benefit from it in important tournaments like T20 World Cup. Before the Asia Cup 2022, all kinds of talks were being done about Kohli's form and former captain of Team India Kapil Dev even gave him the team for the T20 World Cup 2022.

However, now Kohli is back in form and has given a befitting reply to his critics. Kohli scored 276 runs in 5 matches played in the Asia Cup 2022 with one century and two half-centuries and was the highest run-scorer for India in this tournament. While playing an unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan, he also scored the 71st century of his T20 International cricket career. After Kohli's stellar performance in the Asia Cup, former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi suggested Kohli for his retirement.

According to Shahid Afridi, Kohli should take retirement when he is at his peak in the game. Afridi said that Virat Kohli should not reach the level where he is dropped from the team. Talking on a TV channel in Pakistan, Afridi said that Virat Kohli had struggled a lot before making his name, but now he is playing amazingly. He is a champion and I believe there comes a time when you are heading towards retirement.

Afridi further said that he should take retirement only when his game is at its peak and he should not reach the point where he is dropped from the team. Although it is very rare that a player retires at a peak, but I think Virat Kohli will retire in some way, probably the same way he started his cricket career.
