Confirming the attack, a police official said that the incident took place in Chaudhary Gund area of district Shopian. Pooran was sitting in the garden inside his residential house when the terrorists attacked him. The attackers suddenly entered his house and started firing on Pooran who was sitting in the garden. The terrorists fled from there soon after the attack. When other members of the family came out after hearing the gunshots, they found Puran lying in a pool of blood in the garden.
With the help of local people and police, Puran Krishna Bhatt was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital. Sources say that his condition was serious. During the treatment, the injured person succumbed to his injuries as he could not bear the pain. Police officials said the assailants were being identified.
