The competition for Malaysia's fighter jet program involved two aircraft from China, South Korea, and Russia. However, Tejas has outperformed all these and secured the first position. Now Tejas is competing with South Korea FA-50. However, Tejas still remains in this competition due to low prices. 

2- This Southeast Asian country has started talks with India on the purchase of state-of-the-art Tejas aircraft in place of its old war planes. Malaysia had also considered options for China's JF-17 jets, South Korea's FA-50 and Russia's MiG-35 and Yak-130 aircraft before choosing the Indian fighter jet. However, Malaysia liked India's Tejas best for its air force, apart from the planes of these countries. India has also offered Malaysia a package of maintenance, repair and restoration facilities for its Russian-origin Su-30 aircraft. 

3- Indian Tejas is better than its competitors in many ways. China's JF-17 fighter jet is cheaper than Tejas, but it does not stand anywhere in front of the merits of the Tejas Mk-IA variant. Tejas is many times better, faster, lethal and state-of-the-art than the fighter jets of Korea and China. He said the Chinese JF-17 was cheaper, but could not match the technical parameters of the Tejas Mk-IA and the Su-30 fleet offered by India. India is also providing MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) to Malaysia. Under which a facility will be built in Malaysia itself where Indian engineers will repair Russian Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jets including Tejas. Indeed, due to the sanctions imposed on Russia's international deal due to the Ukraine-Russia war, Malaysia cannot yet seek help from Russia.

Malaysia is already preparing to buy Tejas aircraft from India.

1- After becoming Malaysia's first choice recently, India's first indigenous aircraft Tejas fighter jet was in the headlines. If Tejas aircraft is compared with Sukhoi, then it is much lighter than that. These aircraft are fully capable of flying with a load of 8 to 9 tons. This aircraft can fly with as many weapons and missiles as the Sukhoi aircraft weighing more than this. If compared to South Korean aircraft, then this aircraft is more expensive than Tejas.

2- Their biggest feature is its speed. Being light, their speed is unmatched. These aircraft can fly as fast as the speed of sound i.e. Mach 1.6 to 1.8 up to an altitude of 52 thousand feet. Tejas is India's first indigenous fighter aircraft. In this, more than 60 percent of the parts are manufactured in the country itself. It has two ranges. It has Mark-1A and 10 Tejas Mark-1A (Trainer) or training aircraft. The cost of a Tejas Mark-1A fighter aircraft is more than Rs 550 crore.
