She raised her hands towards the sky and started crying loudly, taking the names of Tayem, Yazen, Luqman, Hakim, Salma. He now feels that the flood has swallowed his entire family…there is no scope left to convince his mind.

More than 20 thousand people are feared dead

The Mayor of Derna has expressed the fear of death of more than 20 thousand people. Whereas according to the figures of the World Health Organization, the number of deaths has been 3,922. After stopping the rescue work, now the relief work is going on. Facilities are being provided for more than 40 thousand homeless people. Three-fourths of the population of Derna city, with a population of 120,000, is badly affected by the flood situation.

Islamic militia has control over Derna

Derna is located in an area of eastern Libya where there is no recognized government. This area is controlled by Islamic militia which has links with terrorist organizations Al Qaeda and Islamic State. In such a situation, there is doubt as to how long the relief work will be able to continue there. In such circumstances, extremist organizations will get more opportunities to become stronger.
