America to give more weapons to Ukraine, Defense Secretary discussed many issues with Ukrainian counterpart

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov discussed a range of priorities, including air defense and artillery, for upcoming meetings of Kyiv's allies in Brussels. President Volodymyr Zelensky and other Kyiv officials are urging their allies to send several modern battle tanks, including US M1 Abrams fighter jets, the German Leopard 2 and the British Challenger 2.
Ukraine Defense Contact Group to meet at NATO Headquarters
The Ukraine Defense Contact Group will meet at NATO headquarters on Tuesday, following up on the January 20 meeting at Germany's Ramstein air base. In fact, the meeting on 20 January was crucial to the decisions to send the tanks.
The Pentagon's chief spokesman, Brigadier General Patrick Ryder, said in a statement that Austin and Reznikov discussed the importance of quickly delivering on commitments made to send battle tanks and war planes. After the talks, Reznikov tweeted that "the United States has always stood by Ukraine".
17 missile attacks in one hour
Russia attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure with 17 missiles in one hour. Due to this, the electricity and water supply in the country was disrupted, Ukraine again called upon the western countries to leave the political tussle and provide weapons to it.
This is Russia's biggest attack in the war going on for the last one year. Ukraine says that the Ukrainian military could have shot down Russian missiles but did not want to endanger the lives of ordinary people in other countries.
