Awareness Workshop on MSME TEAM Initiative Conducted by SICCI Kerala and NSIC
TRIVANDRUM: To promote awareness about government support for small businesses, the Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) Kerala, in partnership with the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), Cochin Branch, organized an awareness workshop on the MSME TEAM Initiative on 24 May 2026 at Hotel Hyatt, Trivandrum. The event received an encouraging response from entrepreneurs, industry leaders, startup founders, and business professionals from different parts of Kerala.
The workshop focused on helping business owners understand how the MSME TEAM Initiative can support their growth. Participants were introduced to various government schemes that encourage technology adoption, digital development, skill enhancement, and better business management. The sessions aimed to provide practical knowledge that entrepreneurs could apply in their businesses.
The workshop was inaugurated by Smt. Jeeva, IFS, who attended as the Chief Guest. She praised the organizers for bringing together government departments, industry experts, and entrepreneurs on one platform. She encouraged business owners to explore government opportunities and continue learning new methods to strengthen their enterprises.
Sh. Premraj, Additional Director of the Directorate of Industries, Government of Kerala, addressed the participants and highlighted the government's commitment to supporting MSMEs. He explained that small businesses play a key role in economic growth and employment generation. He urged entrepreneurs to take advantage of the various schemes introduced for their development and modernization.
Dr. Thomas Nechupadam, Chair of SICCI Kerala, delivered a special address during the event. He spoke about the importance of building a strong business community through knowledge sharing and collaboration. He said SICCI Kerala regularly organizes programs that help entrepreneurs improve their skills, expand their professional networks, and stay informed about new business opportunities.
Experts from NSIC conducted informative technical sessions that explained the MSME TEAM Initiative in detail. They discussed the benefits of adopting digital technology, improving productivity, and using government support to increase business efficiency. Participants also learned about several schemes available for micro, small, and medium enterprises across different sectors.
The workshop also featured presentations by B2B and B2C network participants. These sessions allowed businesses to introduce their products, services, and ideas to a wider audience. The networking opportunities helped participants connect with potential business partners and exchange valuable experiences.
A lively question and answer session gave entrepreneurs the chance to interact directly with government officials and NSIC experts. Participants asked questions about funding, registration, digital tools, government assistance, and business challenges. The experts shared useful suggestions and practical solutions based on their experience.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Sh. Rajesh Nair, representing SICCI Kerala. He thanked the Chief Guest, government officials, speakers, NSIC experts, participants, and the organizing committee for their valuable support. He also appreciated the active participation of everyone who attended the workshop.
The awareness workshop successfully provided entrepreneurs with useful information about the MSME TEAM Initiative and government support programs.
