There was a shootout at the Azerbaijan Embassy in Iran. A man armed with a Kalashnikov-style rifle has attacked the Azerbaijan embassy in Tehran. In which the security chief has died on a diplomatic post. So there two guards have also been injured. This information was given by the officials of the Embassy of Azerbaijan. He said that at present no organization has claimed responsibility for the attack in Tehran.

The reason for the attack is not known

Officials also said that the motive behind the attack is not yet known. Video purportedly taken at the scene shows a lifeless body just inside the embassy in front of a metal detector. Iranian state media did not immediately share any news of the attack.

A guard post was also attacked

The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan has issued a statement. In which he said that at present the investigation of this treacherous attack is going on. Officials also said that he destroyed a guard post with an assault rifle. Azerbaijan shares a north-west border with Iran. There has been tension between the two countries since the fighting between Azerbaijan and Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh region. 

Iran did military operation near Azerbaijan border

Iran launched a military exercise near the Azerbaijan border in October amid nationwide protests that rocked the Islamic republic. Azerbaijan also maintains close ties with Israel, which Tehran views as one of its top regional enemies.
