At least 10 people have died in a tragic road accident on Saturday near the border of western Kenya with Tanzania. Actually a truck got uncontrolled on the highway of Migori city. He drove the truck over pedestrians, motorcycles and taxis. In the horrific road accident, 10 people have died, while 10 others have also been injured.

Accident due to brake failure

A local police commander said the accident occurred on a major highway in the Kenyan town of Migori when the driver lost control of the brakes. The truck went uncontrolled and climbed on the pedestrians and vehicles running on the road. Due to which many people lost their lives due to which many people got injured. However, this information was immediately given to the police. 

Death toll may increase

The police reached the spot and started the relief work. Migori County Commander Mark Vanzala said efforts were on to rescue those trapped under the truck. At the same time, he also said that in this accident it is also feared that the death toll in this road accident may increase.

Vanjala said two more people were reported to have crossed the bridge and fallen into the river, but could not be saved. Eyewitnesses told local media that the truck driver repeatedly honked the vehicle's horn before the accident. But the control of the truck was lost due to which this horrific accident happened. 

The truck was going towards Isebania

The truck driver was carrying sacks of rice in the vehicle towards the border town of Isebania in neighboring Tanzania. Videos of people being trapped under trucks and looting rice have surfaced on social media Many Kenyans travel to their rural homes during the Easter holidays. In such a situation, road accidents during this time are common. Police urged motorists to exercise caution and ensure vehicles are well serviced before going on long drives.
