Myanmar army accused of cruelty, high school teacher beheaded and hanged on the gate

The Myanmar army has been accused of beheading a school teacher in a village and hanging him at the door. Eyewitnesses gave information about the incident on Thursday.
According to eyewitness testimony and photographs taken in Taung Myint village of Magway rural area, the beheaded body of 46-year-old teacher Sau Tun Moe was lying on the ground in front of the school door while the head was hanging over the door. The school has been closed since last year and signs of arson have been found in it too.
Army gets work done by common citizens A villager told The Associated Press over the phone that she was among about two dozen villagers, including Sau Tun Moe, who were hiding behind a hut in a peanut field at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday when armed men were caught. Along with a group of more than 80 soldiers reached there and started firing in the air.
The army provides weapons to common citizens and makes them work for themselves. Ordinary citizens act as guides during raids.

An eyewitness said Saw Tun Moe was taken to Taung Myint village, about a kilometer away, and murdered there the next day.
The woman said, 'I came to know on Monday morning that she has been murdered. It is very sad to lose a good teacher on whom the education of our children depended. The woman's two children studied in the teacher's school.

A resident of Taung Myint village said he saw Sau Tun Moe's body around 11 a.m. Monday after the soldiers left.
The villager said, 'First, I called my friends, then I took a closer look at the body. I knew right away that this teacher was Moe. He used to come to our village as a school teacher for the last few months, so I recognized his face.
However, neither the military government nor the government-controlled media has given any information about the teacher's death.
Thousands of people arrested since the coup
Myanmar's military has arrested thousands of people since last year toppling the elected government of Aung San Suu Kyi. Apart from this, he has also been accused of killing more than 2,300 civilians.
US State Department spokesman Ned Price said on Twitter: "We are shocked by reports that the Burmese military regime has arrested, publicly murdered and beheaded a schoolteacher in the Magwa region. The international community must react strongly to the brutal violence of the military regime against teachers.
