Pakistan: Maryam Nawaz blames former ISI chief for mosque attack

Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Pakistan's ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, has blamed former ISI chief General Faiz Hamid for the mosque attack in Peshawar. 101 people including 97 policemen have died in the attack.

The senior vice president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz made the allegation during a party program in Bahawalpur. The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for the attack.

A Taliban suicide bomber blew himself up on Monday at a mosque in Peshawar's Police Line area. The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for the attack. Lt Gen Hamid served as the chief of spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) from June 2019 to November 2021.

Maryam said her father rid the country of terrorism, but it returned because of the bad policies of the Imran Khan regime. He also targeted former Army Chief General Bajwa and former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar for indirectly removing his father.

Let us tell you that many people were killed in the blast in the mosque located in the Police Line area in Peshawar, Pakistan. Meanwhile, rescue officials recovered the severed head of the suspect who carried out the suicide attack. Authorities believe the same person blew himself up during Zuhr prayer at the mosque.
