The Supreme Court of the Taliban has said that 11 people, including two women, were publicly beaten on Friday at a sports ground in Faizabad, Afghanistan's Badakhshan province, Afghanistan-based news agency Khama Press reported.

Publicly beats about 250 people

Khama Press, citing an official statement, reported that the Taliban had thrashed 11 people in front of a crowd in northern Badakhshan province, accusing them of "moral crimes and adultery". Earlier, the Taliban publicly flogged 16 people in Grishk district in southern Helmand province. At least 250 people in various provinces of Afghanistan have been publicly beaten by the Taliban on charges of various crimes. 

Taliban started the practice of public punishment

The practice of public executions by the Taliban began in November after the group's supreme leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada, asked judges to apply Sharia law in their rulings in courts, including the death penalty, according to Khama Press. Over the past months, the Taliban-run administration has beaten hundreds of people in various provinces, including Helmand, Farah, Takhar, Logar, Kabul, Badakhshan, Uruzgan, Jawzjan, Parwan, Paktia, Paktika, Laghman, and a few other provinces.

Taliban lashes 3 people 39 times

The media recently reported that in another serious incident of Afghan human rights crackdown, three men were publicly beaten a total of 39 times by the Taliban. To beat them, the Taliban used the argument that the organization that rules Afghanistan has no tolerance for premarital relations.

Were flogged for having illicit sex

The incident took place in Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan. Taliban officials said that yes they were flogged because the three youths were involved in immoral acts. The three men were tried and sentenced after being detained on suspicion of illicit sex, according to the newspaper of the Taliban office in Nangarhar province.
