This feature will be discontinued from January 2024. After this Gmail will automatically shift to standard view. The company is giving information about this by sending mail to the users.

Google is going to discontinue a 10-year-old feature from its mailing service Gmail. This feature allows users to access Gmail with basic HTML during low internet speeds.

Google has given this information in its support page. After the deadline date, Gmail will automatically switch to standard view.

Information given to users through email

In the email received from Google to the users, it has been said that from January 2024, Gmail Basic HTML view will be disabled from desktop web and mobile web. In this email, the company said that ten years old Gmail Basic HTML does not support all the features of Gmail. Due to this it is being closed.

It has also been confirmed in Gmail's support documentation that this feature is being shut down. Users will be able to access the basic HTML view only till January 2024. After this, Gmail will automatically appear in standard view.

Whenever users access the HTML version of Gmail, they see a message from Google. It is written in this message that this version has been designed keeping in mind slow connections and legacy browsers.
