British Prime Minister Liz Truss announced her resignation on Thursday. She said that I could not implement the measures for which I was selected. I have informed Maharaja Charles that I am going to resign as leader of the Conservative Party. Liz Truss has taken this step after open rebellion against her leadership in the Conservative Party. After Liz Truss, the names of many veterans are emerging as possible contenders in the Conservative Party. Let's have a look at these names.

Conservative Party seems to be forming an opinion about Rishi Sunak.

Rishi Sunak can be the new prime minister of Britain. According to the report of news agency PTI, bookies are betting on Rishi Sunak. The strong logic behind this is that a strong Prime Minister is needed to handle the UK economy which has been badly shaken by the Ukraine crisis. Indian-origin sage Sunak can meet this criterion. Even the ruling Conservative Party seems to be forming an opinion about Rishi Sunak.

Johnson is also a better option

If elections are held in the Conservative Party for the post of Prime Minister in Britain, then the former Finance Minister of Indian origin Rishi Sunak seems to have a heavy hand. 55 percent of Tory members polled among Conservative Party members said they would support Sunak if they were given a chance to vote again. Boris Johnson, who has resigned due to various reasons, is also emerging as the preferred option. 63 percent of Tory members consider Johnson a better alternative to the truss.

Ben Wallace's claim too strong

According to odds aggregator 'Oddschecker' of bookmakers, 42-year-old Sunak is the most preferred contender to replace 47-year-old Truss. At the same time, Sunak's team is looking forward to a strong comeback in British politics. Not only this, UK Defense Minister Ben Wallace is a strong contender. It is known that Liz Truss was the Prime Minister of Britain for only 45 days. If we look at history, we find that this is the shortest tenure of any British Prime Minister.

Jeremy Hunt and Penny Mordaunt also in race

Britain's Finance Minister Jeremy Hunt was the dominant candidate in the last two elections for the post of PM. In the year 2019, he lost to Boris Johnson in the final run-off. Now in the current political situation, his name is once again in the discussion. According to a poll, some Conservative MPs are in support of Minister Jeremy. The name of Penny Mordent, who is a member of the current cabinet, is also in discussion among the possible contenders for the British PM. In the past, Penny Mordent has served as the Minister of Defense and Trade. Penny Mordent has been a supporter of Brexit.
