After Priyanka Chopra Jonas' film The White Tiger Bafta has finally reached the nominations for the Oscar Awards. A list of nominations for the 93rd Academy Awards was released on Monday, with The White Tiger receiving a nomination in the Adapted Screenplay category.

Its writer-director Ramin Bahrani has received a nomination in the Best Adapted Screenplay category for The White Tiger. The film was released on Netflix. Earlier, Adarsh Gourav, the lead actor for The White Tiger, has received a nomination in the Best Actor category at the British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTA). Adarsh will have to compete with Riz Ahmed (Sound of Metal), Chadwick Bosman (Black Bottom), Anthony Hopkins (The Father), Taher Rahim (The Mauritanian) and Mads Mickelson (Another Round) to win the Best Actor Award. Priyanka Chopra is also the executive producer of The White Tiger.
The White Tiger, which appeared on Netflix on January 22, is a screen adaptation of the novel by the same name of Arvind Adiga. Rajkummar Rao played the supporting role of Priyanka's husband in the film. Mahesh Manjrekar also appeared in an important character. The film primarily depicts the reality of caste and class struggle in Indian society. Films were not released in cinemas worldwide due to the corona virus pandemic in 2020, so the rules that were released on the OTT platforms were included, relaxing the rules on behalf of the institution that conducts the Academy Awards.
