Let us tell you that there have been many such incidents of stampede at free distribution centers in Pakistan, in which many people have lost their lives. According to eyewitnesses, people thronged the designated health center to get free flour under the Government scheme. 

People accused of irregularities

According to local newspaper Dawn newspaper based in Pakistan, the delay and irregular delivery caused panic there. People surrounded the truck carrying sacks of flour and looted hundreds of sacks and kept walking. Those injured in the stampede were taken to the health center for treatment People said that the distributors were showing favoritism.

An elder at the distribution center said, "Influential people were carrying many sacks of flour, but the poor, who had been fasting in Ramadan, returned empty-handed despite standing in queues for several hours."

People's protest about the mess

Earlier on April 9, hundreds of people protested against the irregularities in distribution in the market place of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The protesters demanded action against the irregularities from the government and the district administration.
