Finance Minister of Pakistan resigns, Maryam Nawaz complained to PM Shahbaz
Senior PML-N leader Ishaq Dar will be made the new finance minister to regain political ground ahead of the general elections. Recently, the audio of Maryam Nawaz went viral in which she was complaining about the Finance Minister to PM Shahbaz.
Pakistan's Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has resigned from the post. The Express Tribune has written that senior PML-N leader Ishaq Dar will be made the new finance minister to regain political ground ahead of the general elections. Earlier, an audio clip purportedly of Maryam Nawaz was circulating on the internet media. In this, she was complaining to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif about the Finance Minister.
She was telling Shahbaz – Uncle, the US dollar is getting stronger and Miftar is not ready to take the responsibility. After this she started praising Ishaq Dar. Said, Dar sahib has control over things. They know what to do, but Miftah doesn't know. In the conversation, she was also suggesting to Shahbaz Sharif to increase the price of petrol.
Decision came after Nawaz Sharif's meeting
According to the Express Tribune, the decision came after an important meeting of the party, chaired by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, in London on Sunday. Leaders who attended the meeting included Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, outgoing Finance Minister Mifta Ismail and Ishaq Dar and other party leaders including Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan.
There was already speculation of resignation
Let us tell you that for several weeks there has been speculation that Dar may be replaced by current Finance Minister Mifta Ismail. Several top PML-N leaders, including Maryam Nawaz and Javed Latif, have been publicly attacking his policies on several occasions.
