Turkey Earthquake Death Toll: Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said on Saturday that the death toll from last month's massive earthquake in Turkey has risen to 45,968. Soylu said that 4267 of those killed in Turkey were Syrian citizens.
Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said on Saturday that the death toll from last month's devastating earthquake in Turkey has risen to 45,968. Although bodies are still being pulled out from the rubble of buildings damaged in the devastating earthquake, the death toll is expected to rise.
Speaking in the quake-ravaged southern city of Antakya, Soylu said 4,267 of those killed in Turkey were Syrians.
India and America extended helping hands
After the devastating earthquake, help is pouring in from many places for both the countries. India has also provided humanitarian aid to both the countries under Operation Dost. In view of this, now Indian-Americans from all over America have collected financial assistance of more than three lakh dollars for the earthquake victims of Turkey and Syria.
164,000 buildings damaged
Turkey's Environment and Urbanization Minister Murat Kurum said that 164,000 buildings have either collapsed or been damaged due to the devastating earthquake. Meanwhile, local civil defense in northwestern Syria said thousands of children and thousands of families have taken shelter in cars and tents for fear of another earthquake hitting the country.
