Bhutan's foreign minister spoke at the United Nations

Bhutan's Foreign Minister Lyonpo Tandi Dorji, while addressing the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, said on Monday that Bhutan, like many other parts of the world, was badly affected by the effects of COVID-19 and the disruptions caused by it. But today more than 90 percent of our population is fully vaccinated. Which characterizes our campaign to vaccinate our population as an unexpected success story. 

Expressed gratitude to friendly countries including India

In his address from the forum of the United Nations General Assembly, he said that this would not have been possible without the help of friendly countries including India. Who provided us with vaccines under the Vaccine Friendship Initiative and enabled the first round of vaccination for our adult population. Bhutan also expressed its gratitude to the United States, Denmark, Bulgaria, Croatia and China. Bhutanese Foreign Minister said that without your cooperation our success would not have been possible. 

Nepal praises India-China

At the same time, Nepal's Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal has also praised the Indian government. In his address, he said that India played a big role in providing vaccines to his country Nepal. Due to which Nepal has achieved the target of vaccination of 96 percent of the country's population. We thank our neighbors India and China for their support.

India sent vaccine to more than 100 countries

Let us inform that under the Vaccine Friendship Initiative of the Government of India, more than 250 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been supplied to more than 100 countries, which includes about 95 lakh doses to Nepal and 5.5 lakh doses to Bhutan.
